A magical doll is one of the most commonly used tools in sympathetic magic, which follows the rule and theory that “like creates like.”

Movies typically are showing puppets as the stereotypical "voodoo doll", but there is more about puppets and dolls.

Dolls have been around in many different cultures for a very long time and for different purposes, not only to harm but also to heal or to protect the home and hearth.

There are many ways to create one by yourself and if you create a poppet of a person, anything you do to the poppet will affect the person it represents.

If you're not sure whether it's okay or not okay for you to use poppet magic, you can research and find out about your tradition before using them.

You can create a doll from different materials like fabric, clay, wax, wood, paper or threads and fill it with herbs, stones or a specific spell on paper, or anything else that suits your needs.

For centuries, in Germany and Scandinavia little dolls where made called "kitchen or cottage witch". They were hung up or placed in the near to the hearth in the kitchen. The people believed the doll has the power to keep roasts from burning, pots from boiling over, and sauces from spilling and bring good luck to everyone in the household.

Dolls are a useful magical tool and can be used in a variety of workings. After you create it you have to make connection to the person or a link to, put so called "life into the doll" by using nail clippings or hair of the person you want to work for.

Use your poppets for healing, to banish harmful people from your life, to bring abundance into your home or just as a good house doll that brings luck to you and yours.
