JANUARY RITUALS

For me it is an old tradition in January to ritually bless the house with water and candlelight

when the year is still "fresh and new".

All persons of the household gather together for this tiny ritual.
Maybe you like simple, easy rituals like me, than this is for you, Wild One:

For the January blessing, just before the full moon, get yourself

a bowl of water from a natural source.

For example, from a well, a river or a stream or fresh rainwater

or if possible let some ice or snow melt for it.

 Place few a white candles in the centre of the bowl.

Pour the water into the bowl and light the candles.

 All the members of the household line up for the blessing and give each other the bowl of water

and the candles clockwise so that each person can whisper their wish softly into the water.

The bowl is then carried around the house and a few drops are placed in each corner of the room, while a

blessing is said. The candles must then burn down completely, and the remaining water is returned to nature.
